 | An "ECOTOURESTO" | Mar 23, 2008 |
Cape Bojeador is located along the Burgos coastline in Ilocos Norte. The coastline itself is a mouthful; the perfect location for a cafe' & restaurant.. but inland more sites await. The resto therefore is the jump-off point for hiking trips to sites like Kaangrian falls, kaangrian rock pools, Kaangrian Bat cave & the Arasaas underground spring. The restaurant though doesn't loose face, we offer ilocano dishes, intercontinental, sizzling treats & gamet dishes( black seaweed).Pretty soon we will be offering people a first hand experience on gathering gamet w/c is a very risky livelihood. A cafe' & restaurant that supports ecotourism.

MISSION To ensure the promotion of eco-tourism within the Cape that shall create an impact beneficial to tourist and the community
| | they used to claim it was an underground river now we know what it is...hence the name- Arasaas underground spring with kaangrian cave & rock pools sidetrip |

| | It was a sizzling hot but a fruitfull day. The lighthouse came to life w/ colors & different people. |
"Arasaas" an Ilocano word meaning to whisper. Folks at the area say its an underground river, thats what we'll see. In time we can include these in our trips for guests. For now its just the falls & the cave.Be taking pics....seeya!!
| | At the entrance you can hear the sond of bats, sorry no pics of the inside,as shining light might agitate the bats. |

| | some of our guests at the cafe' |
Kaangrian falls is so called by natives of the area because it has allegedly a musty odor of bat guano..but that is not the case, I can attest that is not so,as we bathed in the area. The pics speak for itself also, the water is flowing & pristine. The hike even for novice hikers can take 4-5 hours from the cafe' about 6.25 miles out( 10 kms). The terrain is rolling with ascents & descents, jungle areas & open spaces. The view & spectacle therefore varies. We dont promise an easy hike but it is manageable even for a novice w/ determination to reach the area. Water is a must w/ about 2 liters per hiker. Important things to bring will be briefed to potential hikers just email us. Thanks!! | Start: | Apr 14, '08 12:00a |
"Arasaas" is an Ilocano word meaning to whisper. They say its an undeground river with approximately a 5 meter drop from the surface. The sight according to locals is appalling. Our mission, to explore this site next sunday & share it with you all. Salamat!! a scenic waterfall w/ several cataracts & definitely worth the hardship of getting there. We also explored the Kaangrian Bat cave. Ill be posting pics too standby for that. See you all soon!!
| | finally a nice rolling trail from cape bojeador cafe to kaangrian falls..the experience is uncomparable!! |
